I dont know if i can specify with all the rules on discussing content after the exam but now that I took it, should I retake it on september? Or should I take it in january and just update the schools. I'm applying the 2011 cycle. Which is smarter to do? But again it does depend on what I get..

If you really think you did poorly on one section, it won't help you to retake it so soon. I suggest you take some time to focus on that one section, but you never know, you may do just fine! You can slowly start focusing on that section, and when you get your scores back, decide whether to retake it or keep it as is! Good luck!

Some of the sections are meant to be bombed. When I took my MCAT I thought I bombed the physical section and ended up with a 10. I also thought I killed the verbal section (like a 13+) but ended up with an 11. You never know, it's all relative to how hard the test is.

If you can keep motivated after weeks of hard studying and not knowing what your score is, sure. But I wouldn't be able to.

My second time taking it I thought it was insanely harder than the firs time I took it and was anticipating just being happy with doing one point better or even the same. Turns out I did 4 points better. Point is your feelings immediately post-test are probably never indicative of your score and 99% of the time you think you did worse than you did.

Also, if you bomb one section but kill the others it makes up for it. The wait is brutal. I know after both times I took the test I was going through a mental roller coaster after the test. Ranging from I butchered it and am never getting into medical school to I killed it and am getting into my top choice.

Hang in there, and keep busy.

"Point is your feelings immediately..."

This hits the nail on the head. So, to the OP: try not to let it worry you. It sucks. But, you'll have to wait until you get your scores. Hang in there.

So true. I don't know anyone who thought they nailed the MCAT, but I know plenty of people who did great on it. It's not a feel good exam. Just relax, enjoy your month and see how you did. Your AAMC practice average is usually a very good indicator/predictor of your performance.

I'd wait if I were you. Alot of people think they bomb a section and it actually ends up being their best section (myself included). It is an asinine test...

I retook the MCAT yesterday and if you are referring to the PS, then you're worrying too much. The general consensus is that this was the hardest section.
