In my haste to submit ASAP I checked over my essays ahead of time in word and copy/pasted them into the respective school secondaries. Going back, I totally missed the part in the NYU app that said "DONT cut/paste" now I'm not sure how my essays I worked hard to write came out. I'm afraid this will leave a bad first impression on them. Any thoughts?

quit being neurotic

alternatively, sweep the leg

Haha. Seriously though for NYU I've read that applicants who submitted like that had their essay come out in one block with weird characters in it. I suppose I should each admissions office and make sure my essays are legible lol

When you reviewed your application, did you have any weird characters in it? If not, then you are probably fine.

Yeah you shouldn't have any problems if it looked normal. Besides, they probably meant that they didn't want to see an exact rehash of your PS on the Secondary.

I c+p'd nearly all of my secondaries. Just check it before it submits to make sure there's no strange font errors. Also, you can make sure to c+p as unformatted text.

So I'm in a similar situation. I submitted a secondary, and it appears that my apostrophes have been converted to question marks. Although I was granted an interview at this school, I'm worried they haven't looked at my secondary essays yet (II came 5 days after submission of secondary, no LORs in at the time), and will reject me because of this mistake. Should I call the school about it? I really don't want to lose a possible acceptance because of this.

I'm sure they can figure it out.
