okie.. i do not have the gpa and dont think that i can raise it up.. have not taken the mcat have no extracurrilar or any valuble experience. sophomore in college.. taking this semester off.. withdrew all my classes. uhmm nothing really to impress the admission comm. gpa around 3.0 okie so ....
give up now or keep trying and then fail.. ??
what you guys think. im not really a lets study all day type.. and even if i wanted to i cant- i think its lack of motivation
The Mcat gpa and all other stuff that needs to be done to be admitted scares me. and by some bs luck i get in, im scared of the studying that you have to do in medical school? and then residency.. this process has no end.. its always stress.. you gonna be always worried about what you have to do..
so.. after all this if you dont get in or if you cant handle the pressure of medical school or the resdency or wahtever what do you do??? only thing i can think of is working in some lab or starting a business i mean basically something you didnt want to do..
and i think some person told me that about half of the applicant get in.. so what are the other half doing?? working in labs>???

and i guess you can reapply, but thats mean another year wasted on medical school.. medical school itself is all enough no?
what if you dont get in again??? so ... a person like me... what you guys think??/
yes i want to go to med, but my reasons are very bad..
its for prestige and of course good pay and i think the ability of a doctor is really interesting. its 3:36 in the morning and im tired and very pissed off at the world ...
so dont yell at me too much
sorry for this rambling but i hope someone can help...

Thanks

GIVE ME SOME ADVISE

Take a step back to reconsider whether medicine is really for you. If it's money and prestige, why not go to law school or business school? A study of earned incomes over time shows that attorneys and business men make out ahead of doctors, overall (when student loans and sacrificed wages are considered). Is your family pushing you into medicine? My advice: go talk to a career counselor at your university.

What study is that? Please post. Thanks.

It sounds to me that you know already what to do. You yourself say there is "nothing really to impress the admission comm.", that you are "not really a lets study all day type.. and even if i wanted to i cant- i think its lack of motivation" and that your reasons for entering medicine are all "very bad." I am not trying to be critical but I think you really need to listen to what you are saying. If you see these efforts as "another year wasted on medical school," then I think you should consider another field. Medicine is definitely a marathon. If you really want it, then you do everything you can to get there. If you want money and prestige, then there are much easier ways to get it. To be happy in medicine I (personal opinion here) think you need to have intense curiosity and joy in learning, a desire to help others, and incredible persistence. If you decide this is what you really want (after some soul searching), you still have enough time to bring your grades/extra-currics/volunteer experiences up to par. Less than half of the applicants get in, that figure includes students trying for their 2nd, 3rd and even 4th times. It is an uphill battle that is worth it only if this is what you truly want. Plus your motivation and passion for medicine have to show in your interview.

I hope this was helpful. Good luck to you as you look forward to your future, wherever it takes you.
