My school offers a wide variety of biology classes. If you were presented with these choices, which would you take? Right now I am looking to register for my summer and fall courses. I will be taking my MCATs right after my fall semester so if you think any of these will help with MCATs, please let me know 🙂

I already took: General Biology I, General Biology II, Foundations of Biology: Ecology and Evolution, Foundations of Biology: Cellular & Molecular Biology. (All of these were lecture & lab). I also took Evolution and Human Health & Disease.

My Choices:
-Anatomy & Physiology I & II (not really interested as they are listed for nursing majors)
-Biology of Invertebrates
-Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy
-Animal Parasites
-General Microbiology
-Plant Physiology
-Mammalian Physiology
-Developmental Biology
-Neurobiology
-Genetics
-Cell Biology
-Molecular Biology
-Biochemistry
-Evolution of Humans

Should I look to take both cell and molecular biology? Or should I just take one of them?

So far I have been interested in Mammalian Physiology, Neurobiology, Genetics, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, and Evolution of Humans.

Mammalian physiology. No question.

I personally would take neurobiology and genetics.

Rough order of helpfulness for MCAT:
1. Mammalian Physiology
2. Genetics
3. Biochemistry
4. Microbiology
5. Cell Biology

I agree with Hopki. Mammalian physiology would be my first choice, no question.

There is another thread regarding biology classes about halfway down the page. 🙂
