O.K. So I had an interview today and I wrote in my primary application that my father was murdered. My interviewer asked me if it was alright for me to elaborate and thats when the poo started flying outta my mouth!
I told him that my father was schizophrenic and died in prison. I did elaborate on my fathers death as a growing experience and that I did receive therapy to get over it (he died when I was 14, Im now 22). The interviewer didnt seem to mind my answer or seem shocked and he was a psychologist. My interview was very laid back and we spoke about sports and interests and the community and it was extremely friendly, both before and after I mentioned my parental situation.
However, Im worried that my interviewer may think badly of me b/c of this. Is this a reason of concern for medical schools?
I just guess I want some advice as to whether this could affect my acceptance.
😕😕
