So im curious as to what everyone got on their pcat. Tell us how you studied and what not, how you prepared, etc.

I searched and didnt find a topic like this, if there is one, my bad.

Post away.🙂

has it been 6 weeks already?
Four weeks this Saturday. I'm checking pearson's website bid 😉

To indulge the OP, I scored a 74 on my first test. I had taken neither genetics nor microbiology at the time, so my bio wasn't as good as it could have been. My low scores were in verbal, chem, and quant. I probably was able to prepare for only 20-25 hrs with school and work. This time, I spent considerable time preparing and am currently enrolled in genetics and microbiology. So I'm really curious what my new score will be. I used Kaplan, Dr. Collins, and some GRE/GMAT word book to prepare for the last one in Oct.

my lab mentor said he didn't study much, took the PCAT while drowsy from medication and taking naps in between each section and scored in the 90th percentile. but then again this was like 10 years ago.

The PCAT is MASSIVELY different than it was ten years ago. I wish you could do that now 🙁

I can concur with that.

I took the PCAT first time around in 2001. Scored a composite in the 60's because my 97th percentile in chemistry was completely negated by my whopping 22nd percentile in biology (didn't have any bio courses) and I took the exam after going to the bars the night before.

This time around I no scored it because my program didn't require the PCAT and I didn't want to mess up what the assistant dean told me was an 80% change of getting admitted into the only program I applied to and he couldn't give me a 100% chance because he can't guarantee anybody a spot. Without actually seeing my exam scored I think I did much better with reading comprehension, math was iffy (I was surprised how much calc was on it), chemistry probably a high 80 or low 90 percentile..I jumbled up some calcs early on and had to rush through the last 15 questions. Bio - not sure, felt decent about it though. Verbal is what it is for me, that is my weak link.

Also when they reset the PCAT they compare all new test takers to the control group instead of each other who took the test...so really hard to guage that.

Try search terms involving the test date like "August PCAT", "June PCAT", etc. People have posted their scores in those threads and you will be able to see a lot more scores than this thread will generate. Keep in mind that the scores skew high. People with 90s are a lot more likely to post than those with low scores so don't get intimidated by all the high scores.

Still waiting on mine, too.
Delano, how come you aren't retaking? Even if it's REAL bad? lol 🙂 Hope it's not. Good luck.

I just can't see myself going through that nightmare again. The stress was too much so if I don't get accepted for 2010 then I am going to make sure that my GPA remains strong and apply to schools that do not require it.

Might as well get used to the stress. It doesn't get any better in pharmacy school.
