hey guys, just a general question, what kind of articulators do you use?
At UMDNJ we have the Hanau wide-vue semi adjustables. I heard USC uses panadent and UCLA uses Denar Mark II's...is this true?

thanks, mike

I use articulators that have a hinge, two mounting bases, and a little metal pin. Beyond that...couldn't tell you.

I use whichever one my school automatically bills me for.

My class has the Denar Mark II and the Ivoclar, which I prefer.

...that rules out a Hanau twin pin...I'm gonna go ahead and guess Whipmix.

Yeah we use Panadent at USC, and we are ALWAYS forced to mount a study cast for every patient.

Do the professors require you to take a facebow too? DP

Yes, in the data collections appointment we take impressions and a facebow. We then present the mounted casts during the treatment planning appointment.

We are required to have mounted study casts before starting any fixed treatment, however, many don't do it for single units.

I use the MTA (Modified Toofache Articulator). My left hand is the upper mounting piece, and my right hand is the lower piece.

What do you do if your patient doesnt have 3 evenly spaced repeatable contacts?
