and you were hoping to know something by the first of the year so you knew whether to quit your job and finish the pre-req's or not...

That's a pretty disappointing feeling...

Yes, I know I could just quit and finish the classes anyway, but I'm a year from being vested...fully vested, in my retirement and pension plans, so if I don't get in this year, it's not worth it to quit early.

Don't be disheartened. Being on hold does not necessarily mean a rejection. I know that my favorite school pre interview is no longer my favorite school. Things change. Keep your job and finish your pre-reqs. You have to prepare for the best and worst case scenario. Keep your head up. Best of luck!

Thanks for the encouraging words...not too down, and I'm one that believes things happen for a reason, so who knows....

Problem with work/class is it's coming to the point that the two will have to be mutually exclusive, I'm afraid...

Might be time for a new job.
