1) Is it the interstitial cells which are interspersed between the semineforous tubules?

2) Or is it the Leydig cells?

BTW, I don't know the correct answer which is why I am asking you guys. 😀

If memory serves me correctly, they r produced in the leydig cells.

Well according to achiever test 3 question 36:

Interstitial cells interspersed between the seminiferous tubules produce male sex hormones like androgens and testosterones.

OK never mind, according to wikipedia the names are interchangeable:

Leydig cells, also known as interstitial cells of Leydig, are found adjacent to the seminiferous tubules in the testicle.

The interstitial space that sorrounds the seminiferous tubules houses the interstitial leydig cells. The leydig cells produce testosterone.

So yea intestitial cell and leydig's cells is pretty much the same thing.

Interstitial cells ARE Leydig cells. That's they they're called 'interstitial cells of Leydig.' And they synthesize testosterone when stimulated with Luteinizing Hormone.
