So, with this NBME score, what does this mean?

I just took the NBME #1 exam and got a 204. I'm pleased that I can pass the exam, cuz I was really afraid of that. I've got a month to go and my hard core studying is starting next Monday. Giving myself 3.5 weeks to review. I've been doing review since April 1, but not as intense as I am going ot get. I just want to go into internal medicine. What's an acceptable score? I've been told that all I need to do is pass the exam. Thoughts?

If you are not planning on getting into a really good program then its probably true that passing would be enough. But, I hope you dont use this as an excuse to not study hard. You can really improve if you put in the hard work. With 3.5 weeks to go, you can do well. The reason I mention this is that I know many friends who before step 1 were not planning on any type of competitive residency. However, when rotations came around they had a change of heart. And, many of them will not get into the program they want because their scores are just not there. So, I guess my point is bust your a$$ regardless. You dont want this exam to be a liability.
