You have 2 major things going for you:

1. You have shown an upward trend
2. You have a balanced score

If you have strong gpa (~3.5), quality EC's and LOR's, you've got a decent shot at getting in somewhere

Good job on raising your MCAT! How did you do it...study more, better test?? 24 is a good score, I know many people that have gotten with that. Make sure you have a decent GPA, though.

Taus--When you say ~3.5, do you mean overall or science?

Nothing is set in stone, but when your MCAT is borderline acceptable, you need your GPA to offset it and make you stand out. So whether its great in science or overall, science is always nice to have higher, but in the end its the combination of all the factors of the application that make or break you.

His numbers are fine. A lot of DO schools have averages at 23 or 24 so I don't think he is a long shot at all.

Thank you all for your response I have applied to roughly 11 schools. NYCOM, WVCOM, Kirksville, PCOM, PCOM_GA (i live in Ga), Lake erie both camp, Kansas City, Des Moines, Nova. i think that is it. I think al these schools average aroung 24-25. And my GPA is 3.6 overall and 3.4 science.

Hopefully it will work.

ALSO- some DO programs( don't ask me which) will take the best score from each section as a best compound score giving you 8/8/10=26 a very respectable score

i hear lewisburg takes the composite score.

I have a MCAT question I have taken the MCAT 3 times. Listed below are my scores and the dates.

April 2004--- 8V, 6P, 5B = 19
August 2004--- 6V, 7P, 10B = 23
August 2005----8V, 8P, 8B = 24

so i was wondering if these scores will be a liability in the application process.
you'll get in somewhere...here were mine:

27 2001
24 2003
25 2004

Only if you apply to too few schools.

With your numbers, you will almost definitely get an interview invite to WVSOM.
