Hey there! Im wondering if there's any people out there who have gone from social work to med school?
Im currently in the second to last year of my Bachelor of Social Work. Part-way through my BSW I decided to switch gears and try to get into med school. I really value my social work education because it has taught how to be critical and reflective, and consider a broader social context when working with clients. However, I am partially drawn to medicine because the knowledge and skills involved seem tangible and concrete. My hope is to eventually become a family doctor and work with marginalized populations, focusing on trans healthcare and reproductive health.
I'm wondering if there any other people out there who have taken a similar route? And if so, what your experiences have been like?
