okay,
let me start by saying I AM NOT LOOKING FOR MEDICAL ADVICE.

that being said, I am looking for what is the softest toothbrush available? Does anyone know? I have heard of special perio-brushes from Oral B and GUM, however I can't find them in stores.

So what is the softest in everyone's opinion.

Sub question:
As far as you guys know, which electric toothbrush has the softest brush?

One of the companies once gave me an "extra soft" toothbrush (as opposed to a "soft" toothbrush). It was either Oral B or Colgate. I'm sure you could search for it.

well I can find "extra-soft" brushes on different websites, however I don't know which is the softest.

I would like to offer my .02.

The softest toothbrush that is available is not made by the large well known companies.

The rotadent (from pro-dentec) is the softest as it uses micro-filaments and not nylon bristles. This is an automated TB though and I am unsure if that is what you are looking for.

Manual brushes are also carried by the same company but I do not know to much about their construction.

See if a rep can come by the school and let you take a look.

If not then the perio focused pbrushes will be your best bet. And if you can not find any in the stores check with your local periodontal hygienist, periodontal school student or call the companies directly.

Best of luck.

Colgate Wave Sensitive toothbrush. I tried the sample brush handed to me at a convention and it's even softer than OralB and GUM "extra soft" brushes that I give my patients.

Okay my all time favorite soft electrical TB is the Rotadent. I can't imagine my life without my Rotadent. :soexcited: If you are looking for a good soft mechanical TB, I would highly recommend a Nimbus TB. You can order at some 800 #. I'm sure you will be able to find the company info online. Those are my personal top picks.

The softest brush is the Gum post-op brush. However, since it's so soft, it doesn't last that long 3-4wks max. I still love using it.

I ordered mine straight from Butler Gum at convention. You can also contact Schein or Darby rep. They should be able to get you some

The softest we have found for our oncology patients is Biotene Supersoft by Laclede... They make products for xerostomic patients...

also sponge toothbrush for the medically compromised "toothette" by Sage

Is the Improve Toothbrush. My dentist carries it- it's not in stores. Much, much softer than anything found over the counter. Available on the web through their site- www.improvetoothbrush.com. I have NEVER found a toothbrush to compare to this.
