Dear fellow SDNs,
Please Share your experience with the Pharmacist reference software.
Which software is better for a pharmacist for better patient care? I know some people use Lexi-Comp, some use epocrates.. Which one do you think is better?
And which smartphone is better to use this software?? Blackberry / palm/ Iphone?????
Any input appreciated.
Thank you.

I use Lexi-Comp for complete information about a drug that I want to look up.

I use Epocrates when I want to look up the pharmacology, the dosages, and brand/generic names very quickly.

I have both, but I've used Epocrates for so long (as in this whole summer while working full-time), so I'm just so used to it.

That depends on your personal preferences of smartphones. Try each one, and you'll see which one you like the best. You may find yourself liking different features than someone else who can tell you about what they think of their iPhones or Blackberrys.

I would personally recommend using Lexi-Comp on an iPhone if you want complete information and an easy way to navigate through the app.

Lexi >>> Epocrates

I just switched from Blackberry to iPhone. The Blackberry was a better phone for sure, but I've found some really good peds apps for the iphone.

I use both Lexi and Epocrates. I like Lexi better because it is a little faster. I also use the Iphone and I'm just an Apple guy, but I'm sure any of the newer smart phones all have their benefits.

Thank you guys . Thank you for your input.

This ^ Lexi has everything I need at this point. Also the AppStore still has the most developers, meaning there is probably an application out there for what you need.

Up to Date. Teacher, mother, secret lover. 😍

I don't see how that part would help  Just Kidding.

Do you ever use apps like Pharmacist's Letter for up to date information or do you just go straight to the website?

I use a Zack Morris-esque cell phone so I don't know these apps you speak of.

Oh... It's just that almost every pharmacist I've worked with has an iPhone or a Blackberry, so I thought you would too.

I'm the last hold out. I don't want to be tethered to constant communication any more than my pager and cell phone already cause me to be 👎

iphone? blackberry??? what about android!?!?!?!

anyways, I use epocrates for android.

I think I just think of it differently since I work at an independent.

Hmm I should try out this android and see what I think.

But I already use iPhone apps on my iPod so would it kinda defeat the purpose?
