Hey I'm interested, but it says to contact your school if you're trying to sign up before you've begun school (or something like that).

Did you see that? Thoughts?

No, I actually did not see that. I guess I'll hold off until August 😉

Found here:

If you are a recent admit and you are filling out this application prior to your first day of medical school between the months of June and September, please contact your school's SOMA chapter to find out how to register for SOMA through their annual membership drive.

I'm not sure what you mean.

I believe SOMA (Student Osteopathic Medical Association) is the D.O. equivalent of AMSA (American Medical Student Association). But you can still join AMSA, even if you are at a D.O. school. I don't think the reverse is true, though.

Thanks for the info. I think AOA is an academic honor's society at MD schools. Top students in each class are inducted into it during their 3rd or 4th year at their respective schools. It is said to be viewed very favorable by PDs come match time.

Ohhhhh...my bad. Yeah I know what that is. I was thinking you were referring to the American Osteopathic Association.

Yeah, I've been curious about a DO equivalent to the AOA honor society, too. Does one exist?
