Hello Everyone, I'm kinda new to this site, although I have been reading posts for a while. I am currently a Junior, and will be applying for schools in may 2005. i am taking my DATs in Jan, and using kaplan to prepare for it. i was just wondering what everyone thought about my stats so far. I'd like to go to UF for dental school, but its dam tough to get into, hopefully i can stay in florida, either uF or nova.. let me know what you think, thanks.

Cum Gpa: 3.4
Science:3.1
DAT: taking in JAn.
Extra cirricular: Been a Dental assistant for 4 yrs, working as one currently. shadowing, volunteering, research and also currently working on a publication, all the general clubs in undergrad, directorship in a club. many more volunteering activities, and few more to add before i apply.
thanks

Hi Say_Cheese and welcome to SDN. It's good that you are already planning for next year's cycle and will be getting your application in early. Since you are asking for feedback on the information provided and you have not taken the DAT, and those scores are a major component of your application, I would try to bring your science gpa up just a bit. Considering the school year is still new that is very possible. Study hard, take plenty of practice exams in order to determine your weak spots and strengths, study some more, and you should be in great shape.

I am at University of Florida.
You have a VERY good chance of acceptance @UF. They strongly prefer UF undegrads. When I went there for my interview this year, I noticed that nearly 50% of the entering class in 2004 were UF students.

Good luck!

ya, your stats aren't to shabby. you might want to look into arizona, they love community service hours.
