This is the summer before my senior year, but I still have not sent out my application. I was previously in a BS/DMD program but I'm looking to apply out. I took the DAT last year and did not do that well (17), and I'm planning on retaking soon within the next the next two weeks. My question was should I wait to take the DAT to see if I should apply, because i know it is pretty late in the game. Or would I have a greater chance just to apply and send them my scores after (i'm scared they'll see my first dat score and throw out my app)

totally depends on your GPA. If your GPA was below 3.4 or so, I'd wait personally and get it out early next cycle... but if you want to go for it... by all means, apply and let the schools know you will resubmit your new scores. If your GPA is over 3.4, I would apply and let the schools know you will resubmit your new scores ASAP. I think you take a hit if you apply after the beginning of September. You have already missed out on the first round of interviews at most schools. Good luck. Applying early is key.

Thanks, for a great reply. My GPA is actually right at the 3.45 mark (did bad sophmore year) but made up for it with upper level sciences. Do i need to specify on the application that you will resubmit the scores, or personally call them (sorry, very new to this)?
