Maybe yall can help me more than the other forum did, they kind of redirected me over here. I don't know where to start this, I am a twenty one-year-old currently working on an undergrad degree in History and Public Policy and I have always wanted to be a doctor I guess, but I am graduating in December. I am going to finish and start working on my masters most likely in History or get my MBA, but I want to take pre-Med courses and hopefully get into Medical School in a year and a half. My school offers a lot of summer school in science classes, so I think I will be able to do both (work on masters and take classes for pre-med). I know this all sounds crazy, but does anyone have any advice? Do I have a shot at it? I have good grades and I am involved in a multitude of extracuricular activities...so yeah thanks for the help.

As long as you do well in the science courses and MCAT, you will not have any problem getting into medical school. It will also help you to be exposed to clinical work. I suggest that you go shadow doctors and volunteer in a hospital, if you haven't done so.

See my post in the other thread. Your other thread suggested that time was of the essence, but I'd say that you cannot regard this as a race if you want to succeed. It is important that you take the time you need to do well on the postbac sciences, so I'd suggest doing your studies sequencially, not simultaneously. Also you will want to have a good reason in your interviews for why you are getting a masters in history instead of doing a postbac if you truly "have always wanted to be a doctor". There is no reason you cannot do both, but just don't expect to be able to do both particularly quickly and still succeed.
