Hi, I am currently a freshman in college and have really been looking at getting into pharm schools. I am looking into programs which I can enter before I graduate from college to give me a quicker start. You know programs you can enter into early? I think Albany has a pretty good one, I was just wondering if anyone knew of any other good ones I should look into. Thank you

enter before you graduate from college..

you just need to finish the pre-reqs for whichever particular pharmacy school you wish to apply for and whatever else they ask for (PCAT, LORs, etc.) It's not like you HAVE to graduate college and get a Bachelors degree in something, except for some exceptions.

Has anyone here ever did any of those programs personally and have any input they can give me?

Well, since you're a freshman in college, I would suggest that you look into pharmacy schools in areas of your choice, look at their pre-reqs, and then take the courses required and then apply there after your 2nd year of college because most pharmacy schools in the US are 0-4, meaning that you need 2 years of college prereq and then apply directly into their school after taking the PCAT or something. You can go to the AACP for more info on schools.

There are two kinds of pharmacy schools:

Those that take students right out of highschool, known as 0-6 programs. There you stay at the same school the whole length of the program. It was my experience that they take a very low number of transfer students because their class is filled from freshman year on.

Then there are schools that offer the four professional years separate from the pre-pharmacy prerequisites. At these schools students after completion of prerequisite courses can apply to the graduate program.

are you from new york??
