Hey all,

I am and MS2 this year and have some questions about studying for Step 1. I did very well my first year (to 10% in most classes), but one of my main concerns is that I have forgotten a lot of things from first year. I figure that I don't want to wait until step study time gets closer to brush up so I am looking for any recommendations on what to do during M2 year. My curriculum does all normal physiology in first year and path and pharm in the second year. I have access to the Kaplan Q bank and was planning fitting in some questions each day on the topics that I am currently learning, but might it be a good idea to brush on first year stuff by doing questions, or would looking at review books be better? (I have the kaplan books too)

Another concern of mine is that I literally learned everything during first year using flash cards. Even this year I pretty much use flashcards for everything (I will watch pathoma, take notes in my book, then make cards for the entire chapter and not look at the book or watch the videos again.) I know I won't really be able to use flashcards to study for Step 1, so I am worried about changing my methods as the test approaches and think it might be a good idea to try to rely less on flashcards now, but I'm not sure what to do.

Any tips on what worked to begin preparing for Step 1 during M2, or how you reviewed first year stuff during second year would be much appreciated.
