Hi all,

I go to Rutgers and am going to graduate in May 2008 with a BS in Finance. I have a 3.51 GPA. I'm really considering a career change and doing a formal post-bacc right after I graduate. I was hoping some of you could answer a few questions, though:

1) Is it plausible for me to do a post-bacc so early out of college? How is my lack of work experience (other than summer internships) going to affect my chances of acceptance?

2) How heavily are EC's weighed in applying to post bac programs? I haven't been idle....I'm very active in my fraternity and have done a number of community service events...but I haven't been published or done research or anything like that.

If anyone has any advice it'd be really appreciated.

start some kind of medical volunteering absolutely, so that you show that your pursuit of a new career begins now, not when you begin attending a postbac program. that way you can show that you are serious about this. otherwise it sounds like you should have no problem getting in anywhere.

Not only do you want to start volunteering at a hospital or clinic to show that you're really interested in medicine but also to make sure *you* actually are serious and that you can see yourself in the profession.
