Hey guys,
I have compiled a bunch of random questions that I was curious about...
1) I wouldn't wish this on no one, but what happens if a dental student broke his or her arm during the latter years of dental school? Depending on the recovery time, would most schools still allow you to graduate on time? Has anyone heard about a situation like this before or where a student had to permanently defer dental school entirely because of an injury?
2) Most dental schools have transportation fees. What exactly is this, a shuttle or something for those that do not possess a personal vehicle?
3) When you take out loans, most of them would be from the feds. Other than tuition, fees, room and board, are you able to use the loans for other personal things such as car expenses, etc?
4) I get depress every time I see a "chance me" or a "school list" thread since the OP stats are often pretty good. Seems like many here has like a 3.7GPA+, 21DAT+, with 100's of hours shadowing and volunteering applying to all the schools I would be interested in. 🙁 This can't be the usual statistics of an average applicant can it?
5) What are some of the cheapest dental schools in the US for non-residents?
6) Why do some schools like LECOM for example, still have lower than average acceptance stats? LECOM from what I've learned is a safe bet for most applicants, so do the better applicants decline their invites here or something?
7) Anyone have a clue on the retention rates of dental school?
8) Sorry for the stupid questions.
Thanks.
