Taking it on the 11th of Aug. Just some general stuff to help me start deciding how to pace and time things...

In the RC section are you able to refer back to the passage or do you just get one shot to read it and absorb?

For the Sciences section is a calculator allowed? and how about for QR? If you can use a calculator is a TI-83 or other programmable OK or does it have to be something like a TI-30xs?

And what about breaks during the sections? Required or not and time of the breaks?

Just some general stuff to help me start deciding how to pace and time things...

For RC the passage will be on the same page as every question, with the ability to scroll through the passage. So you can read the question and then scroll through the passage to find the answer.

There are definitely no calculators allowed. You can't bring in anything to the testing station except your picture ID (and at mine they also gave me a key for the locker where I put my wallet, snacks, etc).

There is a 15 minute break that is not required, which occurs between the PAT and RC sections.
I think you can also leave during one of the test sessions if you need to, but the test clock will keep going. So if you had some sort of bathroom emergency you could leave but you'd lose time.

You definitely need to consider pace and timing when you take the DAT. I had a stopwatch and I'd time many of the practice problems I took, especially in Gchem and QR. I practiced timing until I could just blaze through those problems.

No formula tables, but they do give you a periodic table. You hit exhibit to view it.
