Hello to everyone to start off, I am not much of an active member here but I would definitely appreciate some assistance.
I just passed my first year in India, and have entered my second year of med school. Now in about a year I would be eligible to appear for my USMLE Step 1.
I have wasted a year by failing due to noting but just procrastination and laziness. But I would like to get my act straight.
Now the present situation due to the system in India is that for the next couple of months ill have a little free time to touch up on my anatomy physiology and biochemistry, but I would like to do this with USMLE in mind.
About me I am a Canadian guy with a little above average reading and comprehensive skills so like I said if anyone could help me with what I should to or how I should go about including recommended books, anything would be great guys because in India its very rare for someone to read or study for USMLE after their first year, but I would really like to utilize this time rather than just waste it.
Thank you guys.

Hey thx, but the thing is i dont quite understand anything. I have just started to think about my USMLE as this time I want to give it my best shot, so I was hoping if someone could just push me in the right direction as the posts are too many and everyone has a different say without much explanation as to why.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Start reading from page 5. People will tell you what they used for studying, how they thought the exam went, and will usually provide the score as well. All the info is in that thread. Just start on page 5 and you'll see more and more examples of people giving their input...

I really dont know what these terms mean such as review books, high yield and all. What we do here is read from a standard book give your exams and done. I basically know nothing other than that.
