so, I'm so freakin bored. I have two more weeks, then my medical school career is over. And I have zero motivation 😴 . What are y'all doin to keep busy these days. you know, now that the next four years of our lives is locked down 😱 . please give me some ideas.

I bought a new house and I'm setting it up, obsessing over money (see other post  ) and watching freewilly 3 :scared:

I'm in the ICU this month, so I'm plenty busy. Everybody in this city has GI bleeds apparently.

In my spare time I obsess about finding a moving company and figuring out how I'm going to get my cats from Ohio to Texas. Car or plane, sedated or non-sedated. (I wonder if Zydis works for cats? That would be a hell of a thing...)

Not Zydis per se, but a phenothiazine derivative at least:

I've got two Siamese. Both have been sick.

I know your pain *literally.*

Ah sick cats. One of my cats has allergy-induced asthma. A couple years ago he went into status and had to be intubated and nebulized and all that jazz. So now every spring I have to give him steroids. And if he still wheezes and coughs over that, he has to get theophylline TID. Yep, TID. So that's 4 pills a day, in a cat that's already ornery by nature. :scared:

Hopefully he won't be allergic to Texas.

Have you tried a cat pill-popper? I had one when they were young. It worked well and avoided me having to stick my finger down their throat.

Oooo, I'm gonna have to get me one of those! Thanks!

I still might try a zydis test run on the cats though...

What's with the old-school stuff? No 360?

as well as an original and super nintendo

...hooked up to a 10 foot DLP screen.

Mario as big as your head is a wonderful thing 😀

(We have some sort of playstation thingy too, but I can't remember which model.)

Holy crap! The oldest thing I have is a Sega Genesis. That IS old school!! And for my money, I'm waiting for the PS3 to come out. Intern year, here I come.

You're making me jealous...

As for the Atari, I've got one of those (in working order) in my closet....along with a SEGA Genesis, SEGA CD, Nintendo, N-64, Atari 130XE, Commodore 128, A SEGA Saturn, Super Nintendo, and all the modern consoles.

My brother somehow got the Atari Jaguar.

I don't know if I can swing both a PS-III and 360 though...I might have to see the launch lineups. Though Oblivion will definately be hard to beat.

I have a 360 but I'm playing it on my PC. I WILL get a PS3 (oh yes, preciouuus), but it may have to wait after the rush so probably 3-4 months after launch.

My PC chokes just thinking about running Oblivion. Maybe after my PGY-III raise I'll get a new one.
🙂

1982, summer, myself and 3 friends reached one million on asteroids! It took all day and all of us switching off to pee, eat etc. What an occasion.

My new favorite game is Katamari Damacy. True, it consists mostly of rolling a giant ball around, but for some reason it's very compelling.

go for a walk. go regularly. something about walking that can ALWAYS shake the fatigue, lack of motivation and blues from me every time. I'd imagine in the end of fourth year (from what i've seen with my friends) all three of those are present. Most of my friends just drank. if you do the latter, you can burn off those calories too

Hello,

Not a popular answer, but you could start studying for step 3.

😛

I have a Nintendo and Super Nintendo. There's something charming about those side-scrolling and aerial games 🙂

Can I suggest that this may be one of the few periods of comparative relaxation you'll get. rather than thinking I'm bored use the time well. Chill out, see your friends and family (you may too busy later), etc. Also, if you're not moving house before starting residency can I suggest, buy a freeezer, cook food you liek and fill the freezer with it. this may mean you survive residency without a nutritional deficiency...
