Hey you guys, I have recently taken my DAT and did not do so well (17 for AA and 17 for TS). I want to retake, but I know I have to wait 90 days, so my question is:

1. Do I email every school and tell them to hold off on reviewing my file?? Or is it too late in the cycle already and by waiting 90 days it wouldn't do me any good?? 🙁

2. Whats up with ADA? I know I cant take it for 90 days, but I cant even reschedule now for a time in December?? 😳

I tried to contact some schools by phone, but no one is answering and I am so confused on what to do!! Someone please help me before I go crazy!!!!!!

If they don't like your score, then your on hold regardless or even out. Just relax...retake it if you wish and then notify the schools of your updated scores after the results. You can generally fax them the print out you receive so they're 'updated' and then the 'official' scores will be sent in 2-3 weeks after you re-take the test. Then you'll be 'officially' updated. You'll probably be waitlisted though. It's alright. This is my 4th year cracking at it now with a MPH degree guiding my way. If you want it, don't give up.

If you're going to be retaking the DAT for sure, I would look into putting an addendum on your AADSAS application. That'll just let the schools know that you're not satisfied and so they shouldn't be either. This way some of the schools may put off rejections to wait and see how you do.

I have a friend that put an addendum on his application due to a poor DAT score and he actually got an interview without even having taken the DAT over. The addendum just helps cover your bases.

I just emailed all the schools and told them I am retaking in December. I also changed that on my aadsas.

Should I do anything else?

Maybe you should just apply with that score. I got a 17 AA 17 TS and 20 PAT and I have 3 interviews (for some reason). I wasn't expecting much, but i really don't want to retake the DAT. So, I'm rolling with my score. =)
