Does anyone know how many points the SIS is calculated from @ Michigan State? I'm assuming it's 1000 and just done via the percentages given to each of the 4 catagories, but I just want to make sure! I'm still waiting to hear from them and it would help me soo much if I could make sure I'm calculating my SIS score right so I can gage where I may be in the applicants they are still considering.

yup it's out of 1000 points. anyone above 790 got a supplemental, and so far it seems as though the only people admitted have SIS scores above 900. there's actually a thread, called Michigan 2014 i believe, which has the formula to calculate your SIS score if you feel like searching for it =]

there is a pretty lengthy discussion of the SIS score here, as well as instructions on how to calculate your own.

Here is another thread about michigan state. At some point a second one was created and we've been rolling with the new one.

There seems to be quite a few of us waiting to hear from MSU still. I have been tempted all day to call and see if they were done sending out offers. So far I have been able to control this urge but I feel like giving in and call the admin office.

They did update their website last week with this, "Applicants who have received a supplemental application can anticipate a letter of offer or notification of alternate status between mid-February and mid-March"

According to SDN and conversations i have had on campus it appears that two waves of offers have been mailed, Jan 29 and Feb 23.

Its my opinion that they will mostly be sending out offers in March to fill spots they were unable to fill with the first two waves. However, I hope to be wrong and im crossing my fingers for another large wave in the coming weeks.

Lastly, sorry for the rant the 7 month wait has been too long.

if it helps at all, it seems like (at least on SDN) a few of those who received early offers have already turned them down, myself included. see the "offers turned down" thread! 🙂 good luck everyone!

i think you should give in and call, so i don't have to 😉

I would but I called after the January wave. I think its your turn this time.

i called last week to inquire about whether acceptances will be sent to permanent or current addresses (they said current, btw).

so i guess we have to wait and see. hopefully not much longer...

Muchas Gracias todos! that's more than enough info, I really appreciate it!!!!!!!
-looks like its time do break out the calculator and do a little key punching. I've never calculated it myself, so I'll let you guys know what I come up with for comparisons!
