Did you ever feel like that?
I guess you know what I am talking about...USMLEWORLD.
Although I like the question bank and esp. the explanations, I think there is an annoying amount of just plain stupid questions.
And here is how it works.
First you get a question wrong like in biostatistics because you did not concentrate yourself properly (didn´t notice that they flipped the diagramm), and after that you get a question where you think hard, I mean, very hard about, just to learn it´s about a disease you never heard of. (which only 11% got right).

Sometimes I get the feeling the subject distribution of questions is also a bit unbalanced, I usually get 8-10 Pharma Qs. and the same amount in Neurology.
I always thought that those subjects are only moderately tested, yet they make up ~35-40% of most 50Qs. Blocks in UW.

:meanie:

Agree 100% Neuro seems to be over-represented on a LOT of people's step 1's.

I had more Neuro in one block than I did of the rest of anatomy on the entire test. I also had a lot of pharm, though none of my pharm questions were nearly as hard as UWorld.

Work the system... 3 P's > Micro > Neuro > Biochem > Psych/Biostats > the rest.

I actually didn't have much neuro, but a bunch of my friends said their exam was very neuro heavy.

Some of the questions in USMLE World can be frustrating, but you just have to learn to take it in stride. The style, content, and difficulty are very representative of the more difficult questions on the real exam, so I think practicing those icky frustrating questions is very helpful for getting in a good mindset for the exam.

Thanks for your input guys.
I guess it would be wise to stock up on chocolate, just in case I might be tempted to take a bite of the screen. 😀

I think I should devote some more hours into neurology (HY and of course FA), try to fill some holes before my final crunch.

Btw, just to be sure I got it right...the 3 P´s are Path, Phys and Pathophysiology right?

Erm... are you preparing for the exam to take next spring/summer?!? Or are you IMG, or for some other reason taking at a non-traditional time?

doh - just noticed your location says Germany. Well, that explains a lot then. Sorry!

I had a crapload of neuro questions. A lot of gross specimens with name the lesion type questions at the end. They were not too difficult, but did require some time. Got one really nasty visual field defect problem where you had to point out the lesion on a gross specimen of the brain. Yuck.

yea had a lot of neuro on mine too. i actually had brain stem slices that i had to locate the damaged nuclei.

I was expecting a lot of neuro questions (based on SDN) but didn't get very many. Almost all neuro questions had an associated image. It's been awhile, but I do recall 2 or 3 MRAs and a visual field defect question. My test was loaded with micro questions.
