Something to keep in mind:
Just came back from an interview out west. During the presentation section, the director of Admissions informed us that she shares the names of students who have received acceptances and the deposits the school has received with some other schools. Not sure how, or if, this effects any of you.... It might be something to think about though.

This is interesting because there was a post earlier about the possibility that USC and UCSF may share their admissions information. I don't really know how much of an effect it has though, because there are many people that get accepted into both school.

I have also heard this, but it was between SIU and UIC. I don't know the truth behind it though. It came from an oral surgeon I shadow. Seems reliable.

I don't know about schools sharing info. before this, but every school can see which schools accepted you and which you have deposited at on May 1.

How could they see out information? It should be illegal ! I am totally against that.

It is my understanding from having heard from two deans (columbia and vcu) that they are not allowed to collaborate about students they have accepted (i think the vcu dean called it occlusion, but I can't find any reference to it online...) until may. not withstanding, one did say that he knows the other deans and that occasionally they'll share names with each other ...under the radar... i guess. but this does violate the rules, from my understanding. when i applied this year, people were telling me that UCSF and UCLA share candidates with each other, but at the end of the day they are still competitors, and i'm living proof that an acceptance at one doesn't guarantee rejection from the other. GOOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

I think I saw someone saying that UCLA and UCSF *might* do this, but I don't really know how USC would fit in.
