So, I just found out lat night that I will be graduating next semester, in December. I was NOT expecting this but it is what it is. Crazy. It will be nice to save some money though.

Anyways, this will provide me with about five months of free time to do whatever I want before PT programs begin (assuming I get accepted this cycle). I have an apartment leased through next May, and am not yet sure whether or not I will be staying in my college town for the duration or going home (only 1.5 hours away from home). By not being a full time student, I will be saving a ton of money, even if I pay for an apartment I do not use in the spring.

What would be the best way for me to spend this time? I have a summer camp job at the YMCA back home and could probably get a job at the front desk or something for that timeframe. But I would like to stay out at school with my friends and maybe work at a hospital or do research on campus with a professor? I still need to take Physics 2 for PT school, but I do not need it to graduate and will simply take it at a community college if I go home or will take it at my college in the spring, after I graduate.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Any options I am missing? Thanks!

At the moment I am working at one place and volunteering at a PT clinic in a hospital. However, I plan to eventually slowly wind down and leave both places by the end of May. This will give me about two months for my own mini-vacation before heading across the country for school. I plan to use the time to travel and visit a couple of friends around the country, as I probably won't have that luxury when classes begin. I am also planning to brush up on my anatomy so I don't have to play catch-up, since I took my anatomy prereq in 2012 and much of it is a distant memory.

I was in the same situation two years ago. I was accepted in late February and didn't start until early September. I continued to work 10-15 hours a week, volunteered another 10-15 hours a week, and read a lot of books I wanted to read. Don't waste your time. It's the last time in your life you will not be working or in school. Read, travel, spend time with friends, and get in shape.
