3rd year here with an eye on Ob/Gyn - anyone know of non-malignant programs with happy (if that's possible) residents with lives outside of work? Looking for a well-placed away rotation next year, preferably west coast, since I go to a small SW state allopathic school. I don't necessarily want the top programs, just those with non-nasty, life-lovin' folk whose senses of humor haven't been resected. Thanks!

Let's throw this question out to cover the whole country. If anybody has done a clerkship or away elective with a program that they think is particularly nice, happy, social, non-malignant, whatever you want to call it.....share the secret!!

I'll go first. University Hospitals in Cleveland (Case Western) is a great program. Smallish, but the residents are generally happy and get along well, and the attendings are all pretty nice and willing to teach.

Anybody else??

Brown, Stony Brook and UMass were three programs that impressed me last year when I was interviewing. I'm at Stony Brook, and all my seniors have been super supportive so far during my intern year...I feel extremely lucky!
