Okay, so I'm finished with 6 of 12 clinical applications, and was feeling mighty proud of myself for being uber-organized, having very few moments of drama along the way, and so on.
So tonight I was editing/re-working one of my already-submitted SOPs for another program, and in reading through it, found a large-ish error... then frantically went back through my files and realized that, indeed, this version of the SOP had in fact already been submitted (and to one of my top choice schools at that).
I apparently made a copy-and-paste error, and somehow managed to delete the last word from a sentence. So it's this sentence that is well-written, flows well, and then stops abruptly (should be "blah blah blah deepening my scientific interests" but was sent without the vital last word).
I am a hardcore perfectionist and am pretty much freaking out about this. The deadline for the program is next Tuesday, and everything has already been submitted and received by the school. This is the sole error in what I consider to be an otherwise strong statement of purpose. Should I correct the error and send another copy (hoping that it gets there in time...) or is that just drawing more attention to the fact that I made a mistake? If it was an apostrophe or something, I probably wouldn't worry about it, but this feels relatively major since it disrupts the flow of the statement. I see so many pros and cons to sending a fixed copy...
Thoughts??
(SO ready for this process to be over...)
