SOPHAS taking forever to process

Anyone else having this issue? I submitted my SOPHAS apps Feb 1st and they are YET to be mailed out. Talk about frustrating. Anyone else having this issue, or should I worry?

Well you can't expect to submit apps in the future, travel back to the past, and them have them be mailed out IN the past.

That's odd...I submitted to SOPHAS on Jan. 3rd and 4th and everything has already been verified and mailed.

Did you already have your GPA calculated by SOPHAS, when I submitted my application during the end of November, I had just sent my transcripts in so it took awhile for them to calculate it and mail my stuff. If you already have yours calculated and at least 2 letters of rec, it shouldn't take that long. I would call them up!

yea, submitted my apps 3 weeks ago and nothing's been mailed 😡
doesn't really make sense that it would be about my transcripts though, since SOPHAS got it all the way back in November. I'm hoping it's just because there's heavy traffic right now with all the deadlines?

I submitted my apps in December like around the 22nd, and they waited until the 24th of January to tell me I was missing a transcript for a community college course I took in high school. I mailed it out the 29th of January and they still haven't received it/processed it. I'm so annoyed! I called all my schools I've applied to and they've been telling me the same thing =( I hope I at least get reviewed/ SOPHAS says my application is complete this month. 😡 🙁

I had everything submitted on 1/6, though I didn't hear a word from SOPHAS. After a few pointed emails they responded on 1/31, "Your application complete date is 1/6 with a verification date of today." Everything was officially mailed out on 2/6 and I've heard from two schools confirming that they've received my application. As I understand it, the schools know that SOPHAS takes a while to process things, and they will use 1/6 as my "application complete" date. If this is true, I think that you may have squeezed in under the wire.

Well, I was freaking out about my transcript being sent in even though I had asked for it two weeks before and the lady I talked to at Columbia said that even though my application was technically complete on 2/6, I would be fine because they extended their deadline to 2/1, so I think you should be fine! The lady I talked to at SOPHAS said my application was supposed to go out last week, but it still hasn't been sent out. I feel like I'm not gonna get in anywhere at this rate and it is driving me crazy!

Agree with all of you guys...still waiting on everything to go in with SOPHAS and getting frustrated since I sent out all my stuff in 1/28! 🙁

For what it's worth, SOPHAS does kind of make a point of letting you know that it can take up to 4 weeks to process.

But of course they define "4 weeks" as 31 days 😕 🙄

I just think it would be easier sending transcripts straight to the school so they don't have to recalculate the GPA. I'm in medical school so there is no way that they can even calculate a GPA out of my courses from there. In my opinion, 31 days to get everything together is a little much and it will prb be longer for me since I have both college transcript and med school transcript to send. :/

I completed my app on 12/26 and SOPHAS has STILL not sent it out! To be fair, I was confused how to classify my classes as "upper" or "lower" and did it by class level and not year completed. I recognized this mistake right away and contacted SOPHAS to allow me to edit my application. SOPHAS took almost 3 weeks to respond to my request and allow me to edit my app. I was able to resubmit my app on 1/16. It has now been 7 weeks since submitting my application and 4 weeks since resubmitting. I am starting to get very frustrated and a little concerned about missing school deadlines.

That sucks! I would suggest contacting them ASAP via email, phone, facebook, anything. They were pretty quick to respond to my requests when I called.

Also just a heads up to everyone, I got an e-mail from a school today saying they had received my application, even though on SOPHAS is says it still hasn't been mailed out. So I guess it's always a possibility they're not updating the mailing status of everything as quickly as they should!

I submitted my app on 1/15 and it still hasnt been sent out. I didn't do my undergrad in the US so that might be the reason, but my transcript is in English and the GPA is calculated just like US institutions. Its just taking sooooo long! 🙁
