Sorry, we don't take ObamaCare

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
My state has 2 different companies offering exchange plans (now that United as back out). We have 2 hospital systems in town. Each system refuses a different plan due to poor reimbursement.

None of the private specialists in town take any exchange plans and very few PCPs do.

so, its essentially medicaid. except the exchange plans dont authorize shots until you have climbed mount everest backwards.

i dont like it, but single-payer is the only way this works.....

not a big deal....transgender bathrooms are more important

In my state, our Medicaid considers Gender Identity Disorder a surgical disease and will pay for sex reassignment surgery in some cases, but patients with post-laminectomy syndrome on Medicaid can't get a SCS. I wonder if PET scans of transgendered brains show evidence of central sensitization syndrome?

The transgender persons tend to elect for surgery once in prison, that way the state can really pay out....
A failed aca does not mean all out Medicare for all. Prove big government is capable of running healthcare first .... Vermont failed a single payer system miserably. Mass elected to veto the aca. They know better.

Nah, there are absolutely ways we could have this work without single payer.

whats that now?
Scott brown elected during final senate votes of the aca. Mass residents revoked aca, Scott brown prevented threshold in senate for ratification. Aca subsequently passed via reconciliation, and is thus subject to repeal at any time. You forget the history of the aca??

massachusetts voting for scott brown was not a referendum on the ACA. his opponent at the time was a less-charismatic hillary clinton-ite (martha coakley) who was hated by all. it wasnt clear to the lay public that a vote for brown would mean ACA would only pass by reconciliation. trust me on this. the mass healthcare law is not perfect, but it is well-liked in massachusetts

no. one implication of your post was that there was no ACA in Mass...

i was wondering if you forgot that Mass Scott Brown voted to support the Mass healthcare act of 2006 requiring all residents of Mass carry healthcare...

Not sure what ducctape is saying exactly. The aca was the center piece of that race, and it was the first republican senator elected in ages. Baker is a recently elected republican governor as backlash. and "fivethirtyeight" statistical firm shows Mass trending republican more than any northeastern state.
Finally mass care is not well liked. I know because I trained there and my reps travel regularly and note the docs hate it. I, like most on this forum, respectfully disagree with the two of you...read more, many article on this issue, whether you believe them or not.

i assume you posted to show that mass doctors dont like ACA. it seems more tied to physician reimbursement and number of applicants entering med school. I see no mention of hatred to the ACA as a factor in satisfaction (or dissatisfaction), although that is not an illogical assumption.

curious that the index is at its highest since 2005.

didnt the ACA get signed in 2010?

Index is an index. Best data out there. You want to practice below the national average move to mass... Be my guest. I've been ther 9 years, you?

If somebody from MA or another member besides these three can chime in, that would be great. Otherwise just a useless thread. Apparently working in MA and having direct reps daily talking about the state of affairs isn't enough.... Thank god they have a republican governor to clean up the liberal mess...

Read lonels article. Apparently he didn't... 46% support in 2010. Hence Scott brown wins. Poll shows families now at 56% and falling. Recent loss of networks causing more turmoil in MA, read my families link...governor revamping the system. Things aren't great, but you guy knew that from NV, and elsewhere

1+1 = 3, i guess.

you draw conclusions from data erroniously.

baker's election was again versus the much maligned martha coakley. and it had VERY little to do with the ACA or healthcare at all. baker is essentially a democrat. his policies are very liberal for a republican. one of the things massachusetts residents boast about and have pride in is the healthcare system and that some of the best hospitals in the world are in massachusetts.

and we will see how red massachusetts is in the general election.

56% is a majority, except with someone's math

yes, look at Oklahoma for a great example

I don't know about MassHealth (or whatever its called) but wasn't the point of the article that started this thread about how the "best" hospitals don't usually work with ACA plans?

not to be argumentative, but apparently NY is far worse than Mass...

Agreed, the topic is clear cut. The link I posted shows MAsshealth has the same hospital referral limitations. in Massachusetts case children are harmed... You can't have your doctor as Obama promised....a single payer run by democrats will fail, guaranteed...
My math is great, I completed medical school not like others.
