I am a fourth year medical school applying for Anesthesia this upcoming year. Due to scheduling errors, my rotations were messed up and I am now left without an Anesthesia rotation in the slot that I planned for it (Starting July 30th). Obviously, this is a horrible situation for me because I want and need to do an Anesthesia rotation in order to apply to Anesthesia.
After this happened, due to the fact that all of the home rotations at my school were already filled, I was told to apply for VSAS aways. However, my school (osteopathic school) only allows you to apply to one away at a time per slot. And thus, by the time I was declined by the first one (all spots already filled), all of the other ones were filled as well and I received more declines.
I've spent days calling and e-mailing hospitals to no avail. I was hoping that maybe one of you guys knows of an available slot at the hospital you work at or be willing to take me on for an elective for 4 weeks starting July 30th.
If not, I'll also take any advice on what exactly I should do at this point.
