I just got a bunch of physical exam equipment and need to get a bag for it without spending a whole (after paying for damages from a hit and run driver, unexpected roof repairs, oil prices, property tax increase, and a bunch of other stuff, I am officially broke).

Can anyone steer me to a good source for quality but reasonably priced doctors' bags?

Many, many thanks!

If you an HPSP participant, you can get reimbursed for a doctor's bag. $80 is the max reimbursement amount for the AF. It maybe different depending on which branch you are with.

Most of the people at both LECOMs go through Tom Steele medical supply co., he is real flexible with HPSP students, and is well acquainted with the billing procedures, so you don't have to explain everything to him. plus, the prices are comparable to pretty much anywhere else. www.steeles.com there's a phone number there, I know I talked directly to Tom, and he was excellent, don't know how busy he'll be though.

The bag you buy should serve another purpose as you will ultimately never use it for medicine. I recommend getting a bag that doubles as a camera bag or a bag to carry all your babies bottles, formula, and outfits in, or a beach bag. My doctor bag sits underneath my bathroom sink where it has been since 1991.

Get one with a smooth surface for easier dusting.

A nylon soft briefcase is a better choice, preferably one that will accept your notebook computer. The squat, old-timey doctor's bags have about as much modern practicality as high-button shoes and spats.
