Hey Everyone! I haven't seen a thread yet for South Carolina Schools. I only applied to the University of South Carolina but feel free to use this thread for other South Carolina schools as well. They said they would be sending out the first round of notifications in late November to early December, has anyone heard anything?

I didn’t apply to USC but I’m commenting to see if anyone has heard anything from MUSC!
 
I applied to both USC and MUSC, only thing I heard from them was that they received my app. From what I've heard/noticed, USC starts giving notice around this time (December) and MUSC starts sending out decisions by January.
 
I didn't apply to MUSC just USC. I'm wondering if anyone has heard from USC yet? I know they said late November to early December and I haven't heard anything yet. I'm also not sure if everyone gets notified (waitlisted, still in consideration, denied) or just if you get accepted.

Everyone gets notified. I applied there the last two cycles.

Thanks! was it on a Friday and around what date? sorry for bringing up bad memories but just wondering when I should be expecting it.

Both were on a Friday, one around 9:20am the other around 11:30am.

I haven’t heard anything from either schools! I applied to both and it’s weird bc no interviews for either so it seems crazy not to hear anything
 
I also applied to USC and MUSC and haven’t heard anything!

Hey! I haven't received any communication from UofSC. Has anyone received communication that isn't an acceptance?

Major: biochemistry
cGPA: 3.82
GRE: 156 V, 154 Q, 5.0 AW
Observation hours: 80 outpatient ortho (def a weak spot, but covid ya know)
I also had a handful of volunteer and extracurricular activities in various areas unrelated to PT
And thank you!
 
Congrats to everyone on acceptances! Has anyone heard from UofSC regarding the waitlist?
 
For everyone waiting to hear from U of SC, I sent an email and they told me my spot on the waitlist (in quartiles) and said they were going to send out more acceptance on the 18th after they see who puts down a deposit on the 15th. It seems like they are not reaching out to people to tell them they are waitlisted and will reach out as they go down the waitlist and accept people. it seems they will be continuing to accept people throughout the next few months. So if you're dying to know where you are, send them an email. They also said spots will be shifting around after the academic update.

Thank you for the information. Did they mention if they outright rejected anyone or are all qualified applicants waitlisted?

No sorry :/ I'm assuming they are waiting to send out rejections and actual waitlist numbers until their class is full
 
Has anyone heard anything from MUSC recently? I sent a reply to the denial email a few weeks ago and have yet to hear anything.

Did you contact them already knowing that you were waitlisted? Because I haven't heard anything back from them yet and would love to know if and where I am on the waitlist or if i'm even waitlisted.

They never contacted me about the waitlist. I don’t think they are going to tell people if they are on the waitlist and instead just go down it with acceptances as spots open up.
 
I would just assume you are waitlisted until told otherwise at UofSC. If you are super curious they will respond with your specific number.
 
If anyone is notified that they’ve been taken off the waitlist at MUSC, please reply! I’ve been accepted to two other schools and have to put my deposit down by Feb 1 but I’m on the waitlist for MUSC. I’m holding out hope as it’s my top choice and since their deposit was due yesterday I’m really hoping I hear back by then. Hearing whether or not others have gotten off will lowkey give me peace of mind on whether I may or may not be accepted lol
 
I've decided to commit to UofSC! If anyone else is in the same boat I'd love to connect.

Congrats! It looks like they are putting together a Facebook page for our cohort to connect. I just joined the group this morning.
 
Has anyone on the waitlist at MUSC heard anything? Apparently they’re starting to make offers off of it starting today!
 
Hi everyone! I was admitted to USC a few days ago. I was wondering if anyone is planning on attending here or knows more about the area? I live in Missouri but attend my undergraduate in Florida, so I'm not familiar with South Carolina at all! Any help would be appreciated 🙂 I was accepted into a few other programs, but want to explore all my options!

I didn’t apply to USC but I’m from upstate SC and my sister just finished undergrad there, I might be able to help with some questions!

I just finished undergrad there in December and absolutely loved it. Columbia has A LOT to offer and I can help with any questions regarding housing, food, transportation, etc! I loved it so much and it is a beautiful campus and the library is literally the best part lol. There are a few sketchy parts of town on the outskirts but nothing too crazy, it’s definitely an amazing school and the faculty are great as well. If I had the stats to get in there, I definitely would have stayed!! Message me with any questions if you’d like 🙂
