I had an interview in September and they got back to me in less than two weeks.
So did you get in?
I just got called in for an interview. I'm kinda worried about it since my stats aren't that great.
pharmcas overall gpa: 3.21
pharmcas math/science: 3.0
pcat: 80 percentile
BS in biology
currently retaking some science courses to boost up the science gpa.
i'm also working full-time as a pharm tech at walgreens, and working on becoming certified by the end of december.

I got put on the wait list, but i have been accepted to other pharmacy schools but look forward to hearing from South because I really liked the school.
I have an 80 % on the pcat, a 3.2 gpa, pharmacy tech at walgreens, and a variety of extra currics. One thing that i have going for me was the circumstances i went through. But if you comunicate the reasons why you want to be a pharmacist and what drives you to be a pharmacist. I believe that if you communicate effectively, the admissios council will be willling to overlook problems with your stats if they are at an acceptable level.
Do you know if south accept the retake of PCAT in Jan? I know it's kind of late but I just want to know if I still can hope for this 3 year school.. I saw they list Jan PCAT on the website...

i was just wondering.. do you have a degree? and what schools did u get accepted to? my stat is REALLY similar to yours and you just gave me a lot of hope cus i've been so worried... lol so THANKS!

I think they said around 85. PharmCas states South accepts 100 but the entering class is about 80.

I got accepted into mercer but I do not have a degree. I am close to getting a degree, about 4 classes shy of recieving it in three years. But I'll take a pharmD over a bio degree any day! 🙂 BE confident in your abilities. If a school has granted you an interview its because they see you as a possible student, so go ahead and show them why they need to accept you. Good Luck!!!

I emailed South and they said they would accept the Jan scores, but I thought the deadline was Feb. 1
Nice to know.. it might be more difficult because many spots may be filled at that time.
Was anyone here in the interview group last week? Everyone looked so scared. It was actually entertaining to see that someone wore jeans to an interview.
yeah, i was there last week. i thought the person in jeans was the bf of an applicant. i think he just followed her there. but anyways, i was really surprise to see about 50 applicants there. i doubt that i will get in with my stats... oh well, it was a nice, learning experience though.

wow thats a lot of applicants. when i went to mine in october there were only about 10 at most.
I interviewed in october.

wait listed at South, Mercer and MWU-CPG. Just interviewed at LECOM Bradenton last week and thought it went well. Of course I have been wrong before... This whole wait list thing is getting old.

For me, it was after a day. They had everything on Monday and called me on Tuesday to invite me for an interview. My interview is this Friday (dec. 14).
I have my interview on Friday too. Good luck and see you there.

I've received my acceptance to Mercer recently, so I'll cancel my interview with South this Friday. Good luck you guy! 🙂

Heard back from them in a few days via email. Still waiting to get an information packet. It seems like a lot of their info online is dated from the 05/06 year. I'd liked to see an updated academic calendar.
I've been wanting to get acquainted with a few others who'll be attending South before June. If anyone is interested, let me know. I might start another thread (unless there already is one).

I interviewed on 11/9/07 and heard from them within a few days, but they had my application for about a month before I had heard anything. So those of you who are waiting don't worry.

The interviews are always on Fridays and start at nine in the morning. We split up into three groups and some groups finished earlier than others so it depends. However, everyone was done by 1230 so if you booked a flight to leave form two onward you could probably make it but 230 is probably better because the schools about 25 minutes from the airport.

Funny story about some students at South:
2 years ago, I was at South university job fair recruiting pharmacy students and i asked this question to one girl with her friend (picture a valley girl popping gum saying "like" in every sentence)
me: So what year are you
ditz: what?
me: you know p1, p2, etc..
ditz: ohhh, yeah i like mp3's how do i get one?
me: blank look with a huge question mark on my face
her friend: nooo, we are p1!
ditz: ohhh... (red face) sulks away.

I have to put off to March. I have interview at wingate on Feb 8th and I have biochem exam on Feb 22 (can't drive back and forth to Savannah in one day). So I won't be there until March 7. Hope the seats won't be filled by then..🙂
I know someone that interviewed on a Friday and she got her email that she was accepted on Thursday. Just 2 more days! I also interviewed on the 8th. Did you interview anywhere else?
