I've noticed that the vast majority of SDNers are planning to attend dental school either in California or the Northeast. Are any of you out there applying to University of Alabama? I'm from Birmingham so I will probably go there if i get in....does anyone have any opinions/info about the school? Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks!

Its a state school that does not accept many out of state
students unless they are exceptionally good.
Then again the exceptionally good out of state candidates
can go to their own state too. My sister applied to 6 or 7 year
accelerated med school program at UAB and receieved
rejection as soon as application fee check was cashed. She
later was accepted to Rice-Baylor (one of the best programs
in USA) after high school. She is one of the best among all
and still gou rejected by UAB. What can I say? You are in -state
student so if you have good stats, u have a good shot.

U need GPA >3.5

DAT AA >19

PAT > 18

Good luck friend.

thanks vishal.....very helpful info.

I went to Vanderbilt, have a 3.35 GPA, 21 AA, and 19 PAT.

Let's hope that's enough.

I must be reading different posts cuz I haven't found too many applying to california. Seems like everyone here are east coasters. Where's the west coast love?!?!
