Spanish and Texas

Though I only interviewed at Baylor/UTH, I forgot to ask how instrumental a working knowledge of Spanish is for surviving there. I speak very little Spanish and though we have some Spanish speaking patients where I go to medical school we have always had adequate CNAs for interpreting. So, bottom line, should I shy away from Texas if my Spanish is poor.

I am a resident at Baylor/UT. You do not need to know spanish. Im in my fourth year and know minimal "medical" spanish and have gotten by. Others here know NO spanish at all and get by with interpreters. The only rotations where I needed to use an interpreter are at the county and Texas Childrens. There are interpreters available and very willing to help.
