Speaking of waitlists

So how are the deadlines going to fall. Do people fall into the situation where they have an acceptance at one school and a waitlist at another school and you have to take the acceptance even if you would have preferred to go to the school who waitlisted you? Do the schools have the same deadline for acceptance? Is there a thread about that anywhere? I couldnt find one.

What I know some people have done is accept a spot in a class they were admitted to, pay the deposit (if there is one), and then take the spot they were offered off the waitlist and possibly lose the deposit.
