When specializing, what is the criteria mainly looked at? Is it mostly dental school performance? How selective is it getting into orthodontic school. I understand all schools are different in terms of selectivity, but in general. Is it something where you have to graduate in the top of your d-school class?

well i guess everything is answered now

board score, class ranking, gpa and research experisence.

Yes, I have heard that ortho, followed by OMS is the most competitive specialty. I believe as a general rule you have to be very near the top in class ranking. As in everything, there probably are some exceptions.
