Hey, can someone tell me about specializing with a specific population? Do most OTs choose to develop one area of expertise, and how does that reflect in grad school classes? Because you have to take certain classes...so I was wondering if it's with the practicums or experience after graduation...

Thanks.

Basically everyone is going to take the same classes - until fieldwork(s) begin in various facilities in the area of the college - schools, hospitals, outpatient, etc.

When you do your FW, you have some say as to what field you are interested in pursuing, where you would then have a leg up when applying for a job of one's particular field of interest.

Therapists already out of school crack in a new area by networking and taking continuing education class.

hope this helps
