Pretty accurate, but not totally. Two of my top three interests fell somewhere in the middle. But the bottom ones are def the ones I am least interested in...

Ooh, I like this!

Top 10:

Radiation Oncology
Allergy and Immunology
Geriatric Medicine
Rheumatology

That's scary accurate, considering PM&R, pediatrics, neurology and family med are what I'm currently most interested in and form the basis of me wanting to be a doctor.

Bottom 10:

Vascular and Interventional Radiology
Neurological Suregery
Vascular Surgery
Obstetrics and Gynecology
Thoracic Surgery
Anesthesiology
Pediatric Surgery
Emergency Medicine
Preventive Medicine
Radiology - Diagnostic

Still pretty accurate, I'm very interested in EM and slightly in OB/GYN but everything else is nowhere on my list of attractive specialties.

Pretty friggin a accurate!!

Top 20. =)
1. Radiology - Diagnostic my #1 woot!
2. Pathology #2
3.Preventive Medicine Cool. I've always been a firm believer in not needing to go to the doc by taking care of yourself. I didn't know this was a specialty.
4.Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
5.Dermatology
6.Radiation Oncology #3
7.Allergy and Immunology #3 I've alway told myself if I went IM I would specialize in this. wow.
8.Psychiatry
9.Child and Adolescent Psychiatry I did want to do this, but I don't want to be stuck being a ritalin/adderal dispenser. =(

Guess who won't be becoming a surgeon? 🙂 In all seriousness, I'll probably need to reevaluate this list after my clinical rotations in 5 years.

lol, like 6 of my top ten where surgical specialties 😡😡😡

I guess I didn't weight the "I want to see my future wife and kids" bar heavily enough?

I think a lot of the results stem from the fact that I like the idea of having long-term relationships with my patients. I could see myself doing most of the stuff in my top 10, and not caring for many of the things in the bottom ten.

That quiz basically sucks.

Judging by what you like and what it put, you have the time and schedule stuff as a higher importance. Interventional Radiology and Thoracic surgery...and emergency medicine somewhat have pretty erratic schedules.

and this assessment, while fairly accurate for myself, does not seem to consider the scientific interest in a subject but rather the more "practical" or realistic side. Don't forget that your interest in a subject can give a certain specialty a little more weight

Surprisingly accurate. My top 3 are, in fact, my top 3 choices:
1. Otolaryngology
2. Anesthesiology
3. Gastroenterology

my last one at the very bottom, is in fact, what I would least want to do with my life: child/adolescent psych. Seriously, i'd rather be sodomized and killed in a dark alley than do that.
