Specific DO Timeline

Hey guys, just a few questions here about what to expect.

My GPA is a 3.6, and I have good ECs. I have all of my letters already submitted and my application is complete AND verified. My MCAT results come back on OCT 2.

If I submit on October 2nd when my MCAT comes back, and I have already pre-written my secondaries for the schools that I apply to, what kind of timeline am I looking at? For example, should I expect to receive secondaries within two weeks, and then an interview invite 2-3 weeks after I submit secondaries?

Submit Oct.2, Secondaries Oct. 10-15, interview invites Oct. 25-30, interview late November early December, acceptance late December early January? Or is that being too optimistic?

Any knowledge on this subject would be great!

Most secondaries come within a day or two but some may take a week or even more. It’s great that you have them pre written so you can submit day of but they usually take 4-6 weeks to review your file. The shortest I’ve seen is ICOM at 2-3 weeks. This is based off the emails schools have sent me after I submitted my secondaries.

I think you are being too generous on interview dates.

You're being too optimistic. Add at least six weeks to your time line for the best case scenario.

For example, I got an interview invite in August from NYIT. Closest date was 11/17. KCU offered one in mid November, there was a few spots for 12/7 but the rest were in February. Arizona schools sent me several II in October and these were for January. Take the closest dates you can but be more realistic with your time line
