Hi all, I have a specific question about FAFSA and was hoping I could get some guidance here.

Specifically, I'm living with my spouse and my spouse's parents at the moment. I'm trying to figure out what my "household number" is.

I have two married parents and two siblings (one of whom is currently in college). However, I do not live with them and I am not financially dependent on them. Instead, as I had stated, I live with my spouse and spouse's parents. I am financially independent, although I do not pay rent or the bills. Does that mean my household size is 2 (me and my spouse) or 4 (me, my spouse, spouse's parents)?

On the other hand, my spouse has one sibling (who is working and not in school and does not physically live in the same house) and is financially independent from the parents. In this case, is my spouse's household size 2 (me and my spouse) or 5 (me, spouse, spouse's sibling and parents)?

I will be attending medical school next year and my spouse will also be applying for financial aid for professional school, if this information makes any difference.

I've read through the finaid.org site (http://www.finaid.org/educators/pj/householdsize.phtml) regarding this issue but wasn't exactly confident about the stipulations.

Any advice would be immensely appreciated!
