I was an athlete in undergrad, and an important part of my current app includes demonstrating the level of commitment I had to my sport. I had a low GPA in undergrad , and did a lot of GPA repair with 2 years of post-bac work after making significant changes in my study habits and dropping athletics. I was an all-regional athlete for one of my collegiate years (this was several years ago), but through a clerical error, I was never listed on the online publication of all the all-regional athletes that year. All I have is a certificate with my name on it and photos from the ceremony. Without going into too much detail, it's extremely unlikely that I can get this corrected (I looked into doing this around the time it happened). While I would love to list it amongst my other sports-related awards/medals, I'm strongly leaning towards not doing it just because a simple google search of the list of names that got the award that year would make it look like I am blatantly lying. Is leaving this off my app the right move? I have a couple other medals/achievements on the national/regional level so it's not like my level of commitment wouldn't still be fairly apparent, but that's the only time I ever made the all-regional team. I hate the fact that I can't include what feels like one of my crowning achievements.
