I searched for an answer to this question but I'm not entirely satisfied with the answers I've seen. I've taken only one English course actually listed as ENG/EGL, although I've also taken one composition class listed as a WRT (writing and rhetoric) course and another I believe was a 400 level COL (comparative literature) class, although I'm not certain because the college at which I took this course doesn't let former students check their transcripts. Will these courses fulfill the 6 credit English requirement? I also have taken tons of other writing-intensive courses.

Varies by school. Safest bet would be to take 6 credits in the English department. I've seen people get it satisfied through Philosophy and Religion classes though by schools that accept any "writing intensive class" for the English prereq. Of all the traditional prereqs English is probably the most lax but some schools are known to be anal about it (UCLA comes to mind).

i'm a bit confused on this also- i took an english course at a local CC during summer, literature class, and a writing class .
