Question to anyone that can answer. How to you all bill for a sphenopalantine ganglion block.

Now, whenever I perform these, I typically insert a lidocaine soaked cotton swab into the nose with plastic tubing placed over it. I then instill through the tubing slowly.

Now, there are these new nifty devices out there: www.sphenocath.com

Now, a sphenocath costs about $75, yet, I think medicare will reimburse only about $83 for the block, so not sure if this is worth it versus throwing away $1.20 cotton swab?

If I am correct, you code 64505? 1 unit ?

done with fluoro on the website so could bill a 77002. Pretty cool.
