I know the general consensus around here seems to be listing athletics, hobbies, artistic endeavors, etc. on the primary application is a great way to make yourself stand out from other applicants. How many schools' secondary applications also ask you about hobbies and the like though? Would it be bad if you listed everything on the primary application so you had nothing new to list on secondaries?
Just FYI my "hobby"-like activities I would like to list somewhere include playing soccer in city leagues since I was eight and all through college, sailing both recreationally and competitively small one-man sailboats, playing/writing my own music on both guitar and piano, while occasionally performing with other musicians at coffee shops, etc. around the city (I live in Austin, TX), and recycled clothing/fashion design (I cut up old clothes and put them back together into something new, as well as create designs to go on T shirts and then stencil them onto the shirts).
Should I list all 4 of those things on my primary app (I have the space), or save one/some for secondaries that may ask?
Thanks!! 🙂
